S.R. 23 reopens after fire

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Crews reopened South Bend Avenue/State Road 23 just before 6:30 Wednesday morning after a fire sparked at a business there.

This is at the intersection with Edison Road.

Half of the building is being used for the business Crate 33 Custom Apparel.

Firefighters say the building was vacant when it caught fire.

Street department crews were on scene with sand and salt to make sure the water used in the fire response didn't freeze during Wednesday's chilly morning.
