Commissioners hold off on new ordinance vote in Benton Harbor
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – The Prosecutor’s office appointed a new Commander for the Special Victims Unit as Commander Brian Young declared his June retired.
Kelly Todd is the new Commander for the St. Joseph County Special Victim’s Unit.
According to the Prosecutor’s office, she is the first female Commander for SJC’s unit.
Commander Todd has nearly a decade worth of law enforcement and Special Victim’s experience.
Todd led Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department’s Domestic Violence and Child Abuse Task Force and has been the Assistant Commander for the SVU the last two years.
“I am honored to lead SVU and have enjoyed my previous two years at the unit. I look forward to continuing our mission and leading our passionate and dedicated investigators as we serve the most vulnerable members of our community.” Todd remarked after her appointment.
Commander Young is set to retire on June 1st.
