St. Joseph County COVID-19 Response Team provided an update on the COVID-19 situation during a press conference Friday afternoon.
As of Friday, the county has a total of 1,083 cases of COVID-19.
There has been an additional death bringing the total of 37 deaths, with 34 of those being county residents.
The case rate is 398 per 100,000 people.
The county has averaged between 50 and 60 COVID-19 patients hospitalized and there are just over 60 as of Friday.
55% of cases are female and 45% are male. Age breakdowns include: 19 and under (9%), 20-29 (16%), 30-39 (14%), 40-49 (18%), 50-59 (13%), 60-69 (14%), 70-79 (7%), and 80+ (8%). St. Joseph County’s total deaths are at 37 (34 of these deaths are St. Joseph County residents).
As the state moves to Stage 3 on Friday, all of the officials reminded residents to continue social distancing measures and to wear masks when in public.
