St. Joseph County Health Department holding lead poisoning testing event

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The City of South Bend and the St. Joseph County Department of Health are collaborating this month to share the risks of lead exposure in the community.

On October 26, the health department will host a free lead screening event at the St. Joseph County Public Library’s main branch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The screening is for kids ages one to six years old.

October 22 through 28 is National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week.
