St. Joseph County deputies searching for three armed robbery suspects

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. – Deputies from the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office are currently looking for three suspects in an armed robbery that happened on January 15 at 12:27 p.m.

Police were dispatched to the area of M-86 near Fairfax Rd. in Colon Township.

A 45-year-old Sturgis man was flagged down by a subject in a white Ford F-150 pickup truck with an Illinois license plate that was stopped alongside the road.

The man requested assistance with gas and the Sturgis mas agreed to take him to a gas station.

According to deputies, the suspect, with two other males approached the victim, pulled him from his vehicle at gunpoint, and held him down in the backseat of his vehicle while the other two suspects searched for money.

After not finding any money, the suspects retreated to their F-150 and drove westbound on M-86 towards M-66.

According to police, all three suspects were described as white males in their 30’s.

The victim was not injured during the assault.

This case remains under investigation.
