St. Joseph County Parks hosting StoryWalk in the park

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. –St. Joseph County Parks is hosting a StoryWalk in the park starting Wednesday, August 29th, at the Berta Shelter. 

The park opens at 10 a.m. and is open until 8:30 p.m. until September 13th, at which point the hours will change.

According to the St. Joseph County Parks website, the event is a partnership between St. Joseph County Parks and the St. Joseph County Library.

The event consists of pages from a children’s picture book displayed along a trail for families to read while they walk along with simple activity ideas accompanying the book pages that promote discussion about the plants and animals families might encounter along the trail and around the park.

The project encourages outdoor activity, nature awareness and literacy, according to the website.

The event is free, however there is a vehicle entrance fee into the park.
