ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind.—St. Joseph County has been placed under a county-wide travel advisory as a patchy freezing drizzle develops in Michiana.
The advisory, issued on Monday by the county’s emergency management agency, asks that travelers use caution and avoid hazardous areas.
Multiple central and southern Indiana counties were also placed on travel advisories and watches on Monday as snowy weather moved across the region.
The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office tweeted a reminder on Monday for travelers to leave early, reduce speed and expect delays as there were multiple crashes reported throughout the county.
St. Joseph County Police are asking drivers to slow down, especially on the bypass.
INDOT said that it issued a full call-out of yellow trucks overnight, sending out over 130 trucks working to clear and treat roads.
