St. Joseph County wins GFOA award for 2025 budget

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) announced this week that St. Joseph County has received the association's Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its 2025 budget.
"The award represents a significant achievement by St. Joseph County and puts it in a select group of local governments in Indiana to achieve this award," said Dawn Rice of the St. Joseph County Auditor's Office.
"It reflects the commitment of the County Council, Commissioners, Auditor’s office, elected officials, department heads, and staff to meet the highest principles of governmental budgeting."
Officials say that to win the budget award, St. Joseph County had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation.
“I am proud of the work of our finance team in receiving this award.” says County Auditor John Murphy. “Their work in promoting accountable budgeting and financial excellence has been remarkable.”
