St. Joseph, Michigan law enforcement invites community to run for a cause

Law enforcement and the Saint Joseph, Michigan community will run side-by-side today to raise funds for a worldwide cause.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run will raise money for Special Olympics Michigan athletes and their families. Not only will law enforcement run, but community members are also encouraged to participate.

This is one in a series of forty-one runs scheduled in September all around the state.

The organization provides year-round sports training and competition for over 23,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities. It’s a non-profit organization that is almost entirely supported by corporate and individual gifts.

The run will kick off at 11 A.M. John E.N. Howard Band Shell on the corner of Lake Blvd. and Port Street in Saint Joe. Registration begins at 10 A.M. and the cost is $25 to participate.
