Police investigating stabbing at Walmart

NILES, Mich. – Police are investigating after one person was allegedly stabbed during a fight at a Walmart on Friday, the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department reported.

At 2:08 p.m., deputies from the Berrien County Sheriff Niles Township Patrol and troopers from the Michigan State Police were called to Walmart in Niles Township for reports of a stabbing.

An initial investigation found that a physical altercation between two males ultimately resulted in one person being stabbed, reports said.

The stabbing victim was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

There is no ongoing threat to public safety at this time.

This incident remains under investigation by the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department.
