Standoff in Elkhart comes to peaceful end

ELKHART, Ind. -- An Elkhart woman is undergoing a mental evaluation after she got into a standoff with police Saturday afternoon.
It started just after 2 p.m. on Richmond Avenue. Police were called to help the woman file a report. She said she was robbed, but when police arrived, she threatened to kill officers and herself.
The SWAT Team went in just after 5 p.m. and safely removed her. They found a gun inside the home. No one was injured.
