Star rookie Hannah Hidalgo named Wooden All-American and award finalist

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- The Freshman Phenom, Hannah Hidalgo, continues to collect awards for her standout rookie year with the Irish.

Tuesday Hidalgo was named a Wooden All-American and finalist for the 2024 John. R. Wooden Award, which is awarded to the nation's best women's basketball player.

Hidalgo finished the season with a 22.6 point and 4.6 steal average per game. Both are single-season program records.

The star rookie totaled 790 points, ranking third in program history, as well as 160 total steals which is well beyond the previous program record.

Hidalgo led the nation in steals and ranked sixth in scoring.

As one of five finalists, Hidalgo is invited to the Wooden Award Ceremony in Los Angeles next week.
