Steelcase leader dies at 89

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The longtime leader of a west Michigan furniture company has died.

Steelcase confirmed that Robert C. Pew has died. He passed away Saturday in Florida at the age of 89.

He was chairman of the board for Steelcase for 25 years.  He officially retired in 1999.

Steelcase said Pew valued integrity and gave everyone a chance.

The company said it's mourning his loss and celebrating his life.
