Man sentenced to 55 years for fatal 2024 Elkhart shooting

ELKHART, Ind. -- Stephonn Sutton was sentenced for Murder Monday for his part in a deadly 2024 shooting.

He was sentenced to a total of 55 years, with 256 days of jail credit, and suspended for 10 years. 

In November 2024, the Elkhart Police Department responded to a shooting in the 700 block of Monroe Street in Elkhart.

Police arrived to find 32-year-old Toby Fisher of Elkhart fatally wounded by a gunshot. Fisher was pronounced dead at the scene.
