Steve Luecke gets recognition from Congress

SOUTH BEND, Ind.--South Bend Mayor Steve Luecke has been recognized by congress.

Congressman Joe Donnelly says South Bend has become a hub of technological diversity, thanks to Mayor Luecke. He spearheaded the demolition of the old Studebaker Corridor, and added 50 miles of bike lanes throughout the city.

"I pay tribute to an outstanding citizen of South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Steve Luecke, who devoted his life to the service of our community,” says Joe Donnelly. "He has developed a city in which all residents can be proud to live and work."

Luecke is South Bend's 31st and longest serving mayor. He first took office in 1997.
