STEVENSVILLE, Mich-- A school district is taking back their original punishment for a teacher, after a misunderstanding.
When teacher, Christy
asked a question on a test, community members misconstrued it as racist.
The district immediately forced
to take sensitivity classes but have stated that they acted too quickly.
By not having the proper context, the teacher's test question seemed inappropriate to the district.
Shroeder said that her intent was to challenge stereotypes, not reinforce them.
