Studebaker electric fountain to be restored

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The city of South Bend gave the 1906 Studebaker electric fountain a big sendoff Tuesday morning. It will be taken to Ohio for restoration work.

The Committee for the Restoration of the Studebaker Electric Fountain raised nearly $650,000 to fund the restoration process.

Tom Podner of McKay Lodge Restoration Company came to South Bend to pick up the pieces for the restoration work.

When the 25-foot tall fountain is restored, it will be laced in Leeper Park.
