SOUTH BEND, Ind. – A student at Muessel Elementary School shared marijuana edibles with another student on Wednesday, interim principal Hughes Valmond wrote in a letter to families.

School administrators responded to the situation immediately, working with parents/guardians, the School Resource Officer, and the school nurse.

Students involved in the incident were monitored closely by the school nurse until they were released to their guardian.

The incident was brought to administrators’ attention by another student.
