SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Early Friday morning, a Washington High School student was arrested by the South Bend Police Department after a BB gun was found in his locker, reports said.
No one was harmed and the student was removed from school grounds immediately.
The student’s parent has been contacted and he is being detained at the Juvenile Justice Center awaiting investigation.
In a statement released to parents that day, Principal Thomas Sims cited safety and security as the school’s top priority.
