Groundbreaking for phase two of ’The Cascade’
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Students in the Care and Technical Education program at South Bend Schools were honored on Wednesday at Clay High School.
The certification allows students to enter the workforce right out of high school using experience such as internships, job shadowing, or being full fledge employees.
Lacey Hammett, a Senior at Riley High School said “It was definitely a challenge coming in fresh, not really knowing what to do. We started our first week and we were just learning everything like how to transfer residents and just how to move them in bed and such like that.”
Superintendent Todd Cummings also saying the program provides a great opportunity for students to work side by side with seasoned professionals on the front lines of the pandemic.
