STUDY: Vitamin D helps protect against bone fractures in seniors

Taking a vitamin a day may just be what is needed to protect against bone fractures.

A new study out today shows new support for taking Vitamin D supplements especially seniors.

Researchers studied more than 31,000 people 65 or older taking 800 international units of Vitamin D a day.

Researchers found that those taking the supplement had fewer bone fractures.

Vitamin D is called the sunshine vitamin because its typically manufactured by the body's exposure to sunlight.
