DOWAGIAC, Mich. — Starting Friday morning, you can head to Cass County for two days of shopping, games and music at Summer in the City.
It’s Dowagiac’s longest running festival, having been around for over 20 years, according to the Chamber of Commerce.
Many retailers have their biggest discounts and will have sidewalk sales all weekend.
Front Street will also be closed, so the dozen vendors that have signed up can display booths full of food and crafts.
There will be live music and games, including bumper cars and a climbing wall.
“A lot of our day visitors return from all over, as well as our second home owners, and then they’ll come back year after year, so the community benefits in a lot of different ways from events like these,” said Kris Soenan, President of the Greater Dowagiac Chamber of Commerce.
Events go from 9 to 5 Friday, then start back up at 9 Saturday morning until 2:30.
