Surveillance footage captures Charleston shooter

We've learned the man who's still on the run, but believed to be somewhere in the Charleston area, may have even participated in the prayer service in some way.

And police are starting to give us more information about the victims.

There are nine victims, all were killed. Six are female. Three are male.

Police are asking the public's help in identifying the suspect and his vehicle and passed around photographs taken from surveillance videos to reporters.

The suspect is in his early 20's, 5'9" in height. "He has on a very distinctive sweatshirt as well as the vehicle, with a very distinctive license plate," the police chief said.

Police believe he is still in the Charleston area.

The police chief is saying they don't know if anyone was targeted but they are calling this a hate crime.
