Suspect arrested after eight hour police pursuit in St. Joseph County
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind.—A suspect was arrested following an eight hour long police pursuit through St. Joseph County on Sunday night, according to the St. Joseph County Police Department.
In a post to its Facebook page, the St. Joseph County Police Department said that the eight hour chase went through the woods and fields around Mini Mountain Campground and Bendix Woods on Sunday.
The chase spanned over two patrol shifts and involved at least four K-9s, police said.
The suspect was arrested without incident and was booked into the St. Joseph County Jail on charges of simply battery, strangulation, domestic battery and resisting law enforcement, fleeing.
Agencies assisting the in the arrest include the New Carlisle Police Department, South Bend Police Department, and Indiana State Police K-9 units.
Police have not released information regarding the suspect's identity.
