Suspect arrested in connection to Berrien Co. robberies

A suspect believed to be behind a string of robberies in Berrien County has been arrested by police at the Sunrise Corners Liquor Store in Niles.

The alleged robber has struck a number of different liquor stores and gas stations.

According to police, each time he robbed the stores, he used a knife to take the cash.

A cashier working at the Sunrise Corners Liquor Store says a man wearing a mask walked into the store just after 8:30 p.m. Tuesday night and threatened him with a knife, demanding money.

"I gave him whatever money I had in my hand, and then he walked out and when he got out,the cops got him," said cashier Rangid Gill.

Police say this is the second time in the last two weeks the location has been robbed.
