Suspect arrested in garage for possession of meth, stolen property

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. – A suspect was arrested Friday morning after allegedly breaking into a garage and stealing property while under the influence of methamphetamine, the Three Rivers Police Department reported.

On March 26 at 8:15 a.m., officers were called to the scene of a breaking and entering incident in progress, police reported. The homeowner claimed that a person broke into his garage and was possibly still there.

When officers arrived, they found evidence of forced entry and could hear the suspect inside, reports said.

A Police K9 arrived and, after giving a warning, the K9 began to bark.

The suspect complied with police immediately and was taken into custody, police said.

The suspect was found to be under the influence of methamphetamine, police said. The suspect was also allegedly in possession of methamphetamine and suspected stolen property, reports said.

A 25-year-old from Sturgis, who had broken parole, was taken to the St. Joseph County Jail and is facing charges of home invasion and possession of methamphetamine, police said.
