Suspect enters guilty plea agreement in pursuit, officer-involved shooting
Lance Walter KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. -- Court documents from Kosciusko County reveal the suspect in an officer-involved shooting from June 2025 entered a guilty plea agreement on Monday.
The suspect, Lance Walter, was originally charged with Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle and Attempted Murder following a police pursuit on June 7, 2025, which left an officer with a leg injury.
The incident began when an officer with the Warsaw Police Department attempted to make a traffic stop on Walter.
The short pursuit ended near the intersection of S.R. 13 and E C.R. 150 North when Walter rammed into a parked WPD vehicle.
Authorities say Walter hit the police vehicle while the officer was exiting it. The officer was treated for an injury to his leg.
After the crash, documents state Walter continued driving before turning around to strike the same vehicle again.
The Warsaw officer then fired his gun once, striking Walter's vehicle.
Walter is scheduled to be sentenced on April 20.
