Suspect facing attempted murder charges in early morning stabbing

ELKHART, Ind. -

An Elkhart man was arrested early Wednesday morning after allegedly stabbing another man in front of the victim's wife, according to Elkhart Police.

The victim and his wife were walking from their residence to their vehicle around 3:20 a.m. Wednesday in the 900 block of W. Marion Street when Damion Hester, 41, approached them.

Hester allegedly stabbed the victim in the chest with a knife, then ran from the scene.

The victim and his wife have an ongoing dispute with Hester and had received a protection order against Hester.

Hester was located walking a few blocks from the scene and was taken into custody.

Hester is facing charges of attempted murder and invasion of privacy.
