The suspect, Bobbie Jo Novak, has been revealed to be an acquaintance of the boy's mother.
Novak is charged with two counts of Kidnapping as Level 5 Felonies, one for the Kidnapped Person Being Under the Age of 14 and one for Kidnapping with the Use of a Vehicle.
Novak is being held in Marshall County Jail with no bond until her initial hearing, scheduled for July 14 in Marshall Superior Court 3.
Documents from the Marshall County Prosecutor's office reveal county deputies were called late Tuesday morning regarding the abduction of the child from Del-Lo-Me Lane, just east of Plymouth.
Authorities received the suspect's description from the mom and a description of the vehicle from witnesses in the area.
Once Novak's license plate number was known, FLOCK Safety Cameras were used to search for the car.
An AMBER Alert was in the process of being issued when Novak was located with the boy in Merrillville, Indiana.
Novak's route was tracked through Starke, Porter, and Lake Counties.
The Merrillville Police Department was notified of the situation, and officers took Novak into custody without incident.
The boy was unharmed and Novak allegedly admitted to taking the child and taking him across county lines for personal reasons.
