Suspect in Amanda Blackburn's murder charged in another murder

The man who was charged in the murder of Amanda Blackburn on November 10 has been charged in a murder that happened six days earlier.

Larry Jo Taylor Jr. is charged with murder, murder while attempting to commit or committing a robbery and robbery resulting in serious bodily injury in the shooting death of Rolando Gonzalez Hernandez.

On November 4, 2015 at approximately 8:31 p.m., Indianapolis Metro Police detectives responded to a shooting on Candletree Circle in the La Joya Apartments.

When they arrived, they found Gonzalez-Hernandez lying on the ground next to a Chevy Trailblazer with a gunshot wound to the head.

His girlfriend told police Gonzalez-Hernandez was sitting in his car smoking a cigarette when she asked him to come inside the apartment. He told her he would be inside in a few minutes.

Fifteen minutes later, she heard police knocking on her neighbor's door, went outside and discovered he had been shot and killed, according to the probable cause affidavit.

One witness told investigators Taylor said he was going to "hit a lick," a street term for committing a robbery, at the La Joya Apartments, according to the probable cause affidavit. When the witness spoke to Taylor the following day, the witness told police Taylor said he robbed and shot a person at the apartments, but only got $10, according to the probable cause affidavit.

A second witness told police Taylor said he was going to "hit a lick" at the La Joya Apartments. The next time the witness saw Taylor, he allegedly showed the witness a news clip about a person being shot at the apartments, according to the probable cause affidavit.

A third witness told police Taylor admitted to shooting someone at the La Joya Apartments, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Officers reviewed Taylor's cell phone records and on November 4, his phone made and received several calls while in the area of Candletree Circle between the hours of 4:10 p.m. and 8:56 p.m., according to the probable cause affidavit.

Taylor and Jalen Watson are already facing charges in the November 10 shooting death of Amanda Blackburn.

They are also accused of committing other burglaries the morning, along with a third person, Diano Gordon.

Taylor and Watson are also facing charges for their alleged roles in a burglary and the rape of a woman on November 3.
