Suspect named in deadly South Bend shooting

St. Joseph County Metro Homicide has confirmed one person is dead after Wednesday night's double shooting in South Bend near Notre Dame.
According to Metro Homicide, 26-year-old Tommy Allen Thompson was shot at the Housing Authority Apartments, and later died at the hospital.
The victim's father, 46-year old Ricky Thompson, is recovering from a gunshot wound.
The search is still on for the suspect, who has been named as 28-year-old Brian Rankin.
The streets nearby the South Bend Avenue apartment complex has been reopened since Wednesday night's shooting.
