Suspect on the run since 2018 arrested, charged with Sexual Misconduct with a Minor

Edin Omar Henriquez-Galeano

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- The Marshall County Sheriff's Department reports a man on the run from prosecution since 2018 was located and arrested on Jan. 29.

Deputies say the suspect, 38-year-old Edin Omar Henriquez-Galeano of Illinois, formerly of Plymouth, had an outstanding arrest warrant issued in May 2018 for Sexual Misconduct with a Minor, a Level 4 Felony.

The case was initially investigated by the Plymouth Police Department. Henriquez-Galeano was considered a fugitive from justice after fleeing the area.

Authorities say they recently obtained the possible whereabouts of Henriquez-Galeano from crime analysts with the Indiana State Police, who learned he might be in Illinois.

Once the information was given to the sheriff's department, efforts were coordinated with the United States Marshals Service to find Henriquez-Galeano.

On Jan. 29, Henriquez-Galeano was taken into custody by the US Marshals and taken to Cook County Jail in Chicago where he stayed until being extradited to Marshall County on Thursday.

Henriquez-Galeano is being held on a $25,000 cash bond and a detainer hold for Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
