Suspected drunk driver arrested, accused of hitting patrol vehicle

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. - A suspected drunk driver was arrested after allegedly striking a patrol vehicle's mirror Monday night, according to the St. Joseph County Police Department.

Officers arrested 51-year-old Christopher Gambee of South Bend after he allegedly hit the vehicle while officers were at a traffic stop near Mayflower and Grant roads.

After hitting the vehicle, Gambee continued driving and didn't stop until he was parked at a nearby liquor store, reports said.

He allegedly failed multiple field sobriety tests before being taken into custody.

No one was injured in the incident.
