SWET arrest alleged cocaine trafficker in Benton Township

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. – Southwest Enforcement Team arrest an alleged drug trafficker from South Bend in Benton Township on Wednesday around 4 pm.

Before the arrest, SWET completed an investigation into an interstate drug trafficker, who was distributing cocaine throughout Michigan and Indiana. SWET, working with Indiana law enforcement, conducted surveillance on the suspect, which ultimately led to a traffic stop at the Pilot Travel Center in Benton Township.

About three ounces of cocaine and other evidence of drug trafficking was also seized during the stop, according to SWET. The suspect, a 29-year-old man from South Bend, was arrested for Possession with Intent to Deliver more than 50 Grams of Cocaine, the second offense.

Currently, the suspect is being held in the Berrien County Jail, and his name is being withheld pending his court arraignment.
