NILES, Mich. -- Confirmation tonight a Niles High School teacher and coach is officially on leave after social media posts surfaced accusing him of being a child predator.
The Niles Public Schools confirmed the teacher is no longer in the classroom and an internal investigation is underway.
ABC57 is not naming him because he has not been charged with a crime.
A predator vigilante group posting a video online allegedly showing the teacher meeting a teenager and being confronted.
"The high school staff member has been placed on administrative leave while we conduct an internal investigation, and we have contacted the local police department to ensure the appropriate authorities are involved," Niles Community Schools said.
Niles police tell ABC57 they can't begin a formal investigation unless a victim or witness makes a report.
