Two teachers at Penn High School received recognition for their hard work at a ceremony Friday morning.
Melody Kruger and her co-teacher Aaron Hederman received Teacher of the Month awards for their work as Exceptional Education teachers.
Kruger received and extra surprise from Homes for Heroes, including gifts for her and her three children.
“I am so overwhelmed with gratitude to the hometown group, to Penn High School, to all the amazing students and families that I get to work with every day,” Kruger said.
Kruger said the holiday season can be very hard for many families and that having these gifts to give her children this Christmas will be a fantastic way to bring smiles to all their faces.
