Teacher injured while trying to break up fight between teenagers

ELKHART, Ind. – A teacher was injured after trying to break up a fight between two teenagers on Tuesday, the Elkhart Police Department reported.

At 8:45 a.m., an officer was called to Elkhart East High School in reference to a fight between two juveniles and a teacher injured.

Two 14-year-old females were allegedly fighting in the hallway when a teacher tried to intervene and separate the two, according to reports.

While trying to break up the fight, the teacher was struck and complained of minor injuries, reports said.

Both teenagers were arrested for disorderly conduct and taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.
