On the day of the homicide, a male wearing all blacking clothing and a black ski mask was in an alley across the street from the 600 block of N. Johnson Street, where the victim was found, according to witnesses. That same person was also seen carrying a rifle shortly after gunshots were heard.
The suspect drove away from the scene of the homicide in a white Dodge Charger. Police learned the vehicle was stolen and had been parked at Williams' father's house shortly before the homicide.
The Charger broke down in the 2100 block of N. Johnson Street shortly after Williams drove off in it, police said.
Witnesses saw him get out of the vehicle carrying firearms and eventually get picked up by a white SUV.
The driver and passenger of the SUV confirmed Williams was the one they picked up and that he had a gun with him at the time.
Police later found a black ski mask inside the Charger.
Cell phone data also placed Williams in the area of the homicide when it occurred and near the Charger when it broke down.
UPDATE: Williams was arrested by police on May 23 near Indianapolis.
