Teen found dead outside after house party

NEW CARLISLE, Ind. -- An 18-year-old was found dead at a home in the 51000 block of Timothy Road in New Carlisle Sunday morning.

The Saint Joseph County Police Metro Homicide Unit is investigating.

A nearby resident found out what happened after police arrived.

"I heard the sirens this morning. So of course, I went down to the end of the road and when we saw where it was it was like, 'Oh no,'" said Annette Good.

Good lives just a couple of houses down from the home on Timothy Road.

"We heard some music you know. We didn't think nothing of it. Just having a good time," Good said.

Metro Homicide confirmed there was a party at the home Saturday night.

"It's too bad, you know. I was mainly more concerned with the owner's son and their cousins. I was thinking Oh no, did something happen to them because they're great people. Of course, we're heartbroken about this young man," Good said.

Neighbors said they believe the teen was from Michigan City.

"It is really heart-breaking especially with what the whole town is going through With Jamie Middlebrook," said Good.

The victim's identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
