Teen killed in weather related crash

CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- A 15-year-old girl was killed in a weather related accident Wednesday morning on M-51 in Pokagon Township.



According to the Cass County Sheriff's Department, 16-year-old Nathan Walker was driving northbound on M-51, lost control of his vehicle on the snow covered roadway, crossed the center line and collided with another vehicle.



Nathan's sister, 15-year-old Rebecca Walker, was in the passenger seat and suffered fatal injuries in the crash.



Nathan was taken to Lakeland Hospital, then transferred to South Bend Memorial Hospital for treatment. He is currently stable.



The other driver was not injured in the crash.



Both drivers and the passenger were wearing seatbelts, according to the sheriff's department.
