Teen shot while walking across field in South Bend

A 17-year-old was shot while walking across a vacant field in South Bend Monday evening.
Police were alerted to the shooting in the area of O'Brien Street and Lincolnway West by ShotSpotter just before 11:30 p.m.
Police located Ricardo Hudson in the 1100 block of O'Brien Street.
Hudson told police he was walking through a vacant field towards his friend's house when he was shot in the lower leg.
He didn't know where the shot came from.
The injury was not life-threatening.
The investigation is ongoing.
