Terre Haute radio station launches 'Operation Prom' to help Henryville

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Henryville prom is going to be a night to remember, thanks to some generous donations.

Students lost everything when a tornado ripped through their town earlier this month.

So a Terre Haute radio station launched "Operation Prom".

They collected nearly 600 dresses, shoes, and even brand new make-up!

On Friday, the prom essentials were packed up, ready to be delivered.

"There were several women that came by the station and had tears in their eyes when they were donating the dresses.  One woman said she thought about selling her dress at one time and had thought about giving it away but it didn't feel right.. and that this felt right," said Jay Michaels from Operation Prom.

Extra dresses will be stored and saved for next year.
