From 1 to 3p.m. on Sunday, November 15th the U.S. capitol tree, which is commonly called "the people's tree" will be parked in downtown South Bend at the corner of Michigan and Washington streets.
South Bend is just a stop on the tree's journey from a national forest in Alaska to Washington, D.C.
It was cut late last month and will travel a total of 4,000 miles by land and sea to get to the Capitol.
