The Color Run was a fun environment for participants

SOUTH BEND --- Downtown was very colorful Saturday as the Color Run was in town.

Participants lined up at Covaleski Stadium's Four Winds Field, for the 5K run or walk.

They were splattered with paint at each kilometer including yellow, blue and purple.

After runners finished the race, they got to enjoy a party outside the stadium.

Color Runs have become popular in recent months on college campuses and cities across the U.S.

"Well because you get all like a rainbow.  All bright and everybody is happy and in a good mood.  It's not a big thing like you have to run the fastest or the farthest, or anything like that. It's just a very relaxed environment, a party environment, it's fun," said Goshen resident Jan Pauls.

The company says the color paint does mostly wash out, but you should wash your clothing sooner rather than later.
