The home opener will be a special game for the Miracle, who are beginning their second year in the Northern League, as they will temporarily change theer name for that game to the White Rumps."
"Inspiration for renaming the team the White Rumps for the game against the Griffith Generals comes from a Native American reference used to describe the distinctive light fur in the Elk’s rear region," the team said. "Some historians have associated the name Elkhart with a downtown island that resembles the animal’s heart."
The home opener will begin at 6 p.m. and players will wear commemorative “White Rumps” jerseys "honoring the mighty-antlered Elk ..."
Hot dogs, popcorn, and admission will all be just a dollar each.

The Miracle play their home games this season at the Elkhart Athletic Complex inside American Park just off Waterfall Drive in Elkhart, near the former Elkhart Central High School campus.
