The Elkhart Urban Enterprise Association is offering 3 forms of economic assistance
ELKHART, Ind. – The Elkhart Urban Enterprise Association is offering a Neighborhood Grant Program, an Emergency Relief Fund and an Enterprise Zone Scholarship.
Individuals and groups interested must be located within the Elkhart Urban Enterprise Zone to be eligible for any of the following financial assistance.
The Neighborhood Grant Program will offer neighborhood associations with assistance on costs related to neighborhood-sponsored programs and projects.
Assistance can be awarded up to $500 if programs and projects are selected.
Eligible grants could include newspaper publications, neighborhood block parties, beautification programs and public art projects.
The Emergency Relief Fund has been organized to help locally owned, small businesses who have lost revenue due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Those who receive assistance from this fund will not be required to repay the awarded amount.
Eligible grants for the fund can go towards helping businesses with their rent, mortgage payments, utility payments, subscriptions and more.
The deadline to apply for this fund is 5 p.m. on April 15.
The Enterprise Zone Scholarship is for students who live or work within zone perimeters and have received their high school diploma prior to beginning their chosen degree program.
Traditional, non-traditional, full-time and part-time students are all eligible for the scholarship.
Students of apprenticeship programs, vocational training programs, trade schools, technical schools, colleges and universities are also eligible.
Scholarship finalists will be required to attend a board meeting with the association and make an informal presentation.
The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. on May 7.
