Thousands gather at Silver Beach to watch fireworks

ST. JOSEPH, Mich. -- Thousands gathered at Silver Beach in St. Joseph, Michigan to watch the 4th of July fireworks show Friday night.

The streets of downtown St. Joseph Michigan were packed with people who were there to eat, shop and celebrate the holiday.

Dozens satisfied their chocolate craving at the chocolate café, while others preferred to wait in a long line for Kilwin’s ice cream.

But the biggest attraction was the fireworks show.

One family drove over 100 miles to see the fireworks.

“We came all the way from the Chicago area to check out the fireworks in St. Joe tonight. It’s the talk of the town. Everywhere we go they’re telling us to go to the St. Joe fireworks so we thought we’d check it out,” said Elizabeth Blazejak.
