Thousands gather to say final farewell to Joe Paterno

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Thousands gathered at Penn State university to remember the school's legendary former head football coach Joe Paterno.
Students, fans, alumni, and star athletes from Paterno’s career attended the public memorial on campus Thursday. The 85-year-old was buried Wednesday during a private funeral in downtown State College.
Paterno died Sunday from battle with lung cancer. He was fired two months ago by the Penn State trustees.
