Thousands without electricity near Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Approximately 3,500 residents near the University of Notre Dame and other campuses are without power Monday evening. 

Most of the outages are along State Road 933.

St. Joseph County dispatch confirmed a transformer may be the cause.

According to Indiana Michigan Power the estimated restoration time is around 11:30 p.m.

Intersections should be treated as four-way-stops in this situation.
