Three arrested after man leads officers on short chase in Goshen

GOSHEN, Ind.— Goshen Police say three people were arrested after a Mishawaka man led officers on a short pursuit early Sunday morning.

The driver, 37-year-old Christopher Riley, allegedly refused to stop near Main Street and Pike Street for a minor traffic violation around 1 a.m.

According to police, Riley was found to be in possession of a firearm without a permit, possession of a firearm with an altered serial number and methamphetamine in addition to being arrested for resisting with a vehicle.

Police say the two passengers in Riley’s vehicle were also arrested at the scene.

One passenger, 36-year-old Lundy Mathis of New Carlisle, was arrested for possession of a firearm without a permit and possession of a firearm with an altered serial number as a convicted felon.

The other passenger, Veronica Perkins, was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine, say Goshen Police.

Riley, Perkins and Mathis were booked at the Elkhart County Jail.
